Is this the perfect Festive tipple?

It takes taste and imagination to create a drink so delicious that it stands the test of time. The roots of the distinctive Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer stretch all the way back to 1801. John Crabbie capitalized on the nearby port of Leith, Edinburgh, providing him access to ingredients from many nations. He sourced the finest ginger and exotic spices; starting a legacy that would last for generations to come.

This is quite a statement from the brains behind the Crabbie’s brand. I was quite excited to be sent some to sample as I felt like an adult version of the Famous Five! I was a little concerned however, as I am not a huge fan of ginger. I was hoping that the new raspberry flavour would disguise the ginger sufficiently for it not to matter. To my incredible surprise I found the raspberry a little sweet and I actually preferred the original ginger beer!

I am intrigued by the 4 secret ingredients of course, who wouldn’t be but a part of me actually loves the mystery and the curiosity that drives me to try to analyse what those ingredients could be.

There is something rather fabulous about the warming spices at this time of year. Autumnal seasonings of all spice, cinnamon, cardamom & ginger can create such interesting dishes but why not drinks too. Ginger can potentially help to assist with combatting colds and flu so this could just be the perfect cheeky drink for this festive time of year.

Let us know what you think and which flavour is your festive fave.
