Getting Freaky with desserts!

Hands up if you love dessert. Lets face it who doesn’t?

However, if you’re anything like me the you may struggle to devour deliciousness unless you have time to make it for yourself.

Imagine the sheer excitement and delight at the ecstasy of this discovery. Pudding made from plants, dairy free, gluten free, soy free, egg free and completely vegan!

They have to be awful though right, because everything that free from never quite tastes as beautiful as it promises. I was honoured to be able to try all three of these promising mirages of delight.

First up was the Cocoa Loco.

Now I am not a fan of sickly chocolate puddings and certainly not the over sweet variety. I have to say this was perfect. In a kind of mousse style but thicker there was a slightly bitter dark chocolate effect with a creamier sweeter smaller layer to perfectly balance each other in the taste sensation. the chopped hazelnuts made me feel I was eating a decadent Ferrero Rocher. I could have easily eaten two of these as they have cleverly found an equilibrium in tastes and textures. Despite the base being cashews, would you be hard pressed to guess. I believe this could be served at a dinner party no questions asked as it is akin to any dessert in any notable restaurant that I have visited.

The mango coulis despite being a sweet fruit was matched by the creaminess of the vanilla posset. I do love mango but rarely eat it now as the high sugar levels leave me feeling thirsty. This was a beautiful combination, perhaps as the mango is partnered with the passion fruit so carefully. It really is like a waltz of flavours on your tongue with this dessert.

A refreshingly tangy dessert. The testiness and zing of the berries are lively and full bodied. Like a fruity wine the richness of the flavours are a little more challenging but equally refrescant on a hot day. It almost feels to be effervescent as it melts in the mouth. A delightful little dessert that would suitably dress any summer event or even a ball.

In short I was nothing but overwhelmed by the sheer care of design in this trio of delight. I felt when I ate each one that the flavours and textures and been lovingly combined to create a delicacy as appose to just another dairy free dessert. I felt like I was eating such a rare treat that I truly savoured every mouthful, pleading for it not to reach an end. The value that they have placed on the creation of an amazingly thoughtful dish is nothing but a testament to the company behind the name.

If I haven’t tempted you to try them with my description, just give them a try out of curiosity. Even if you are not vegan, dairy free or gluten free they are worth a moment of your time just to pause and admire the efforts in the creation and help you to stop and appreciate small moments of pleasure in life.
