A Yorkshire-based nutrition business, Medicinal Kitchen has been named one of the top 15 healthy eating Instagram accounts to follow in the UK by a leading industry blogger.

Manchester-based SpamellaB’s health and food blog ‘Indulging Innocently’ (real name Pamela Bustard) boasts a following of more than 5,000 on Twitter. Having been nominated in the health category of last year’s UK Blogger awards, Pamela has partnered with global protein brand, PhD Nutrition, and protein ice cream company, Wheyhey and has fast become a well-known figure in the health food and fitness sector.

Appearing seventh in the list was Wakefield-based Dr Emma Kirke’s Medicinal Kitchen, which has an online following and a base in Huddersfield since forming in October 2013.

Having written, ‘I could have included 100 in this list, but here are my top 15 Instagram accounts I’d recommend following.’ Pamela commented:

“A true inspiration of mine, Emma has battled and powered through some seriously tough times but is absolutely smashing life through fitness and health food. Both her blog and Instagram are based on clinical nutrition and multi-allergy friendly recipes, which always catch my eye at all meal times during the day! Certainly one to follow for accessible healthy ideas.”

Since its formation under two years’ ago, Medicinal Kitchen has provided more than 100 people with bespoke specialised dietary requirement plans to overcome a number of ailments, allergies, intolerances and even injuries. These include arthritis, asthma, skin conditions and more.

The business currently has 50 people actively on Medicinal Kitchen’s well thought-out meal plans which include recommended foods, recipes and a fitness regime.

Emma, who is a leading Clinical Nutritional Therapist, set up the business following a series of personal battles including a car accident which left her paralysed. She learnt to walk and better deal with pain, weening herself off medication through food and fitness.

Emma commented:

“What a fantastic achievement to find out that my Medicinal Kitchen Instagram page is considered to be in the top 15 must follow healthy food, fitness and inspirational accounts in the country. I am so proud to be recognised amongst such well respected bloggers as Clean Eating Alice & Nic’s Nutrition.”
